Today I want to talk about self doubt. Probably one of the hardest things to overcome and the easiest traits that can derail any workout program or can prevent you moving forward in your life. So it has been two weeks and the frustration is building toning and shaping my body is going well but not as fast as I like- I am getting more and more confident but still have overwhelming self doubt. Some days I look in the mirror and feel utterly amazing other days I am so disappointed and feel fat! It’s a constant battle within myself and I have had to train myself to look at other ways of measuring my success instead of a number on a scale! – I have to look at how much I can squat, how long I can train for, how my clothes fit to name a few and I encourage you to do the same.
Self doubt makes you feel worthless, it makes you second guess why you are doing what you are doing in the first place. It’s that tiny little dark voice in your head that tells you that your not good enough but you need to overcome it if you are going to succeed the only person who ever is going to believe in you and believe in your abilities is YOU! You have to be your own cheerleader. Yes there are definitely people around you that will believe in you and cheer you on but your voice has to be the loudest so when you run into people that say you can’t you can laugh it off!
How are you going to cheer for yourself? Are you going to stand naked in front of a mirror and say ‘You are beautiful’, Are you going to list three things everyday you love about your body? Are you going to say to yourself when negative thoughts come into your mind ‘I’m not listening to you – I’m strong, I’m fit and I will achieve my goal?’ – The choice is yours are you going to keep having self doubt or start believing in yourself because I tell you right now back in January this year I never thought I would look like this now!
